
Dr. Anthony Parks is the principal of the Cumberland Valley Virtual Academy (CVVA).
Dr. Parks earned his Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Mathematics Education in 1995 from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. For six years, he was a math/computer science teacher at Weatherly Area Middle School and High School near Hazleton, PA.
After earning Masters of Science degrees in both Classroom Technology and Educational Administration from Wilkes University, he became an assistant principal in the East Stroudsburg Area School District in 2003. Dr. Parks spent six years as assistant principal working at both the middle school and high school levels.
Dr. Parks has earned his Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility and D.Ed. in Educational Leadership in 2013 from East Stroudsburg University's cooperative program with Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
The 2022-2023 school year marks the thirteenth year of Dr. Parks' tenure here at Cumberland Valley. He was a grade-level principal at CV High School for two years, was the principal of Sporting Hill Elementary School for five years, and most recently was the principal of Silver Spring Elementary for the past 6 years.
Dr. Parks met his wife of 24 years on a missions trip to Mexico. A graduate of Messiah College, Mrs. Parks was an elementary teacher in the Hazleton area before becoming a stay-at-home mother. Dr. and Mrs. Parks have four children, three sons and a daughter. Their children participate in baseball, volleyball, soccer, and gymnastics programs through the Cumberland Valley School and youth athletic programs. Their oldest, a 2021 CV graduate, is a sophomore at Messiah University, majoring in Civil Engineering, and playing on the Men's Volleyball team. Two sons attend CV High School in 12th & 9th grades, where they play baseball and volleyball respectively. Their daughter attends Mountain View Middle School and is in 6th grade.
In addition to being a principal, Dr. Parks helps to lead trips to foreign countries for the purpose of missions work engaging both youth and adults as participants, most recently to Costa Rica in June, 2019. He and his wife are active in their church and serve regularly in the children's and drama programs. In his leisure time, Dr. Parks enjoys spending time with his family, coaching/watching his sons and daughter in their athletic endeavors, and playing softball or golf when time permits.
